CORDM obtains the status AEOS “Safety and security”

For several months now, we have been implementing actions at CORDM to strengthen the security of our international “supply chain” in cooperation with the French Customs.

This is reflected in tighter controls on on-site access and buildings, as well as in our commercial relationships with transport companies, inspection and monitoring procedures for means of transport, tighter recruitment policies for employees, particularly for sensitive positions, and greater awareness among the company’s employees of safety and security issues.

CORDM wanted to enhance this approach by obtaining the “AEOS- Safety Security” certification. This certification allows any company established within the European Union (EU) carrying out an activity related to international trade (small or large companies) to acquire a quality label on the customs and security and safety processes it implements.

Issued in France by the French customs, the AEO authorization is recognized throughout the EU and in countries that are signatories to mutual recognition agreements.

The advantages of the Authorized Economic Operator status authorization are numerous. In addition to the facilities provided by customs and security and safety legislation, the approach was structuring for CORDM. It has made it possible to evaluate and control its customs and security/safety processes. Its organisation has been optimised by taking into account customs and logistics functions, better communication between employees and the implementation or improvement of legibility and internal control tools.

The French Customs visited CORDM for a certification audit on the 7th and the 8th of November 2018.

CORDM obtained the “safety and security” certification on 26 November 2018.

The certificate is available on request. Do not hesitate to ask us for it.
